THRESHOLD DANCE THEATER BECOMES NEW HOME
FOR THE SECOND CITY, LAS VEGAS TRAINING CENTER
LAS VEGAS, February 1, 2007 - Threshold Dance Theater, Southern Nevada's
only resident modern dance company and studio, and The Second City, Las
Vegas, the resident company of the world's greatest comedy theater,
announced today that The Second City Training Center in Las Vegas will now
be based at the Threshold facility.
The Second City Training Center is a leading school for the study of
sketch comedy, improvisation, acting and comedic writing. The Center's
classes are taught by professionals working in their fields. The Las
Vegas courses are modeled after the highly successful Chicago program and
eventually lead to performances by the students.
Threshold Dance Theater is a teaching, performance and community access
facility located at 4780 West Harmon Avenue, Suite 10, between Decatur and
Cameron. Second City Training Center classes and performances will
utilize Threshold's studio and warehouse spaces.
"We are ecstatic to have Second City's Training Center operating out of
our facility and it is proving already to be a strong partnership," said
Petrina Olson, artistic director of Threshold. "We are planning workshops
to combine our creative movement abilities with their improvisation
training to make our dancers better actors, and their students better
physical performers."
