Messages from the Masters Brian L. Weiss

“Ransom notes keep falling out your mouth,…… Mid-sweet talk, newspaper word cutouts. Speak no feeling, no I don’t believe you…….. You don’t care a bit. You don’t care a bit.”

Everything is in Flux - Heraclitus

What is the meaning of Flux? The act of flowing, a continuous moving on, the mixing together of different elements, to be in a constant state of change.

At the center of Flux is a six foot circular steel sculpture resembling an atom, the smallest unit of energy upon which all things are composed. The performers ‘ exploration and interaction with the sculpture reflects the unity and interconnectivity of all things and is a multi media piece fusing two art forms. Flux is different each time it is presented, a representation of the participating dancers and the choreographers’ impression of her world at the time.

Always changing, Flux is an ongoing expression rather than a one time piece and is the center point of the company’s artistic philosophy. At the core of life force is the presence of a constant moving and creating energy. Intrinsic to “dance of life” are all variations of energy – flowing, fragmented, gentle, forceful, expanding, contracting, dense, light, dissipating and re-gathering.

Dying To Live

Choreography – Petrina Olson
Music – Johnny Lang
Costume design – Petrina Olson

Sometimes even to live is an act of courage – Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Sometimes the burdens of life can get so heavy we become so weary as to not want to continue on the journey. Yet, if we are fortunate, there will be someone to pick us up and remind us that life is worth living no matter what! These angels in the form of friends or family hold our hands and help us continue walking along the path until we are able to walk under our own power once again. They are with us always, perhaps walking nearby providing soft encouragement, or in our memories of their strength and beauty that touched our lives.

Inspired by a special few who have touched my life but dedicated to all of humanity because the purpose of Life, after all is to live it, to taste the experience to the utmost.

Rapture

Choreography – Petrina Olson
Music – Michael Buble
Costume Design – Petrina Olson

And,
I arise to taste the dawn, and find that love alone will shine today.
And the shining says; to love it all, and love it madly
And always endlessly…………………….. – Ken Wilbur

Every love relationship is a blessing and a gift. No matter how long it lasts or doesn’t last, - whatever the outcome. Every moment is for us to treasure and be thankful for.

Gulu Acholi (Premiered September 2006)

Choreography – Petrina Olson
Music - Conjucto Cespedes, Angelique Kidjo
Costume design – Petrina Olson

We must be the change we wish to see in the world - Ghandi

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has. – Margaret Mead

Gulu, Acholi…………. It is a district in a region of war-torn northern Uganda. But, it could be anywhere……. New Orleans after Katrina, a gathering of homeless in anywhere, USA, that disabled/disadvantaged person in the wheelchair in front of you in line at the grocery store, or the autistic child in your kid’s class who sits in the corner humming and rocking whom all the other kids are afraid of. All too often, we don’t want to see it, hear about it, or know about it. Avoidance may make it easier to get through the day but it’s not going to solve anything will it???
